Weekend Wisdom:I don't know who needs to hear this but you are allowed to say, "no" even when you aren't busy.
I saw some baby animals this week and I must have said, "You are so cute!" 300 times. It seems like the most exciting thing I shared last week was that I ate a strawberry-arugula salad. I got lots of requests for the recipe and as you can imagine it is the simplest thing. Mix baby arugula with sliced strawberries and a little Italian dressing (or olive oil and lemon juice, salt and pepper). That's it! A little magic happens when the peppery arugula combines with the sweetness of the berries. You could add nuts or a protein to this too. Hello Reader, We've all been impacted by the effects of stress and excess. Some of us notice and make immediate changes and for others (like me), we let it go on for too long thinking "it is what it is" until our bodies say, "enough is enough." Someone with multiple sclerosis once asked me, “How can I be healthier with MS?” After writing back with some suggestions, I realized you don’t need MS to benefit from these recommendations. If you feel like crap because you don't sleep well, or have...
Weekend Wisdom: Rest before pushing through. Give yourself a break. You are doing so much better than you think. A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was going to try playing tennis again. It's been more than 15 years since I played. I was nervous and I'm so glad I did it anyway. I am having a blast! Other little joys in my life lately: fresh flowers, reading outside, working on a new project (more soon-ish), strawberry-arugula salad, morning coffee (of course) and getting in bed before 9pm....
